Enhancing the Role of Men in Support of Mom and Baby
Training Description
A full day training for MIECHV home visitation staff to impart knowledge and skills for educating, supporting and inspiring parents during the prenatal period.
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
- Understand how each parent experiences the prenatal journey differences becoming a mom and becoming a dad changing bodies shifting expectations
- Know how to help parents learn to communicate effectively up to and through delivery, navigating the relationship with empathy
- Learn how to build prenatal co-parenting capacity relationship challenges vulnerability and empathy fetal development first 1,000 days Understand dad’s significant contribution during the developmental stages nutrition, exercise, stress management practical and effective ways dads can support moms, socially and emotionally.
- Explore the art and science of supporting dads to remain engaged in the process Connecting with men, challenges and opportunities, recruitment and retention, while creatively managing their experiences
WE WILL DO THE FOLLOWING:
- Provide three full day trainings with 25-30 people at each training.
- Schedule a conference call with supervisors prior to training.
- Administer pre and post tests and session evaluations
- Provide registration, name tags, handouts, and certificates of completion
- Provide all necessary a/v equipment
- Provide pre, post, and evaluation executive summaries
NOTE: All training sites to be provided “in-kind.” Refreshments are not included.
